Olympic National Park: A Tapestry of Rainforest, Mountains, and Lakes
We have created a collection of places you can visit during your stay at Olympic-National, step out your cabin door and straight into a wonderland. Olympic National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, practically borders your doorstep. Here, ancient rainforests cloak the land in emerald hues, snow-capped peaks pierce the sky, and crystal-clear lakes reflect the grandeur of the landscape. It's a place where adventure awaits around every corner, and the fresh mountain air invigorates your soul.
Our forested property borders Olympic National Park from Mora Road to the Quillayute River so you are essentially immersed in the Park at all times during your visit. Roosevelt elk spend their time in the Park and come out to graze in the pasture in large numbers usually in the evenings.
The scientific name for Roosevelt elk is Cervus elaphus roosevelti, and they are also known as Olympic elk and Roosevelt's wapiti. They are named after President Theodore Roosevelt in honor of his efforts to preserve their native habitat in the Olympic Forest Reserve, which he redesignated as Mount Olympus National Monument in 1909.
